So we did it! We committed. It feels crazy and exciting all at the same time. We broke ground in April, and by that I mean we relocated our entire back garden to make room for the coop. We transplanted everything to a tiny garden in front of the coop. Less grass, more garden, win-win! Tony drew up plans for the coop based on a wood shed plan in a recent issue of Fine Homebuilding magazine. The plan was described as a day long project. Modified to be a duck house, we're probably looking at several days of work minimum especially considering the kids excitement to join in the "work". Construction is under way, complete with a rain tarp for working on rainy days. Coming soon...urban ducks.
